小林史子は、国内のみならず、ドイツ、インド、ケニア、オーストラリアなどさまざまな国で積極的に作品を発表してきました。この小林の移動性は、作品にも大いに反映されており、小林はその場所にある家具、照明、小物などありとあらゆる物をアクロバティックに組み合わせたインスタレーションを制作しています。そこには、自身の置かれた環境といかに交渉し、適応してきたか、作家の軌跡を読み取ることができます。また、最近の作品では、その場にある物に加え、作家が展示準備期間中に使用した食器や寝袋、消費した飲食物のパッケージなども組み込まれ、より作家の軌跡が鮮明に表れています。
今回小林が向き合う LOOP HOLE は、スナックが軒を連ね、足を踏み入れた瞬間、時代錯誤的な印象を抱かせる商店街のど真ん中に位置します。小林がこの環境とどのように向き合い、交渉し、介入していくのか。混沌とした商店街に反応し生まれる、小林のケイオスティックな展示にどうぞご期待下さい。

Kobayashi has shown her works actively throughout the world such as Germany, India, Kenya, Australia, and so on.This nomadism is reflected on her works. Kobayashi collects things inside the gallery or studio, such as furnitures, lights, everyday goods, and she combines them in the acrobatic way to construct an installation. It can be seen how she faces with the space, negotiates with it and accomodates herself to it. In her recent works, she incorporates packages, which she consumed during her stay, into the work, and therefore her trajectory clearly appears.
