この春、本展のために長崎へのショートトリップを決行した大久保ありと酒井一吉による展覧会。旅の目的地の長崎は酒井の出身地であり、ライフワークのテーマとする世界史上、広島と並び他に類をみない原子爆弾被爆の地である。大久保にとっては隣県の親族の墓参りのついでとして初めて訪れた土地だった。辿りつけない記憶や記述の空洞にそれぞれの因果と偶然を重ねる。

This show is exhibited by Ari Ookubo and Kazuyoshi Sakai, who took a short trip to Nagasaki this spring. Nagasaki is Sakai’s hometown and the central theme of his life’s work, as it is a place that was atomic-bombed, an event that has never been seen in global history outside of Hiroshima. For Ookubo, Nagasaki was a destination as a stopover on her way to her relative’s grave. They  explore the overlaps of causality and coincidence over the blanks of history and memories.
